A photo of what I am currently reading (and what it tells you about me)
My copy of Thom Jones' The Pugilist at Rest arrived today. I am quite excited about it, as you can probably tell from the photograph. But my legs crossed defensively, and over-protective almost prudish hand position, indicate that perhaps I'm frightened of starting it. Light corduroy trousers are intrinsically passive-aggressive. At the top of the photo you can see the remains of my lunch. Squashed green leaves show an effort to be healthy (though why did I not finish them?) and a superfluity of crumbs hint at my dependence on the comfort of bread, a Freudian anxiety that has links to the bland pine desk.
Next week: sexual forecasting as read into my childhood photographs.

I read this some time ago. I'll be curious to hear what you have to say about it.
